Bali 8 Day Itinerary for Indians: who it suits

Eight days gives Bali room to breathe. You can add a quiet stretch in the east or north, do a volcano sunrise, and still have beach days.

The structure here is three bases with short moves between them, so hotel changes feel like part of the trip rather than a chore.

Best suited to: Honeymooners, repeat visitors and anyone who wants Bali without rushing.

Day-by-day 8-day plan

Day 1

Arrive in Ubud

Long flight, short day. Check in, a light dinner and an early night.

Day 2

Ubud on foot and by bike

Campuhan Ridge walk at sunrise, then a cycling or village tour through the rice fields. Spa in the afternoon.

Day 3

Mount Batur sunrise

A pre-dawn start for the guided trek, breakfast at the top, and a rest afternoon. Only for reasonably fit travellers.

Day 4

Waterfalls and temples

Visit Tegenungan or a quieter waterfall, then Tirta Empul. Overnight in Ubud or move to Sidemen.

Day 5

Sidemen and the east

A quieter valley with terraced fields and weaving villages. A good place to do very little.

Day 6

Move to the south coast

Transfer to Uluwatu or Seminyak. Afternoon at the beach and sunset at a cliff or beach club.

Day 7

Nusa Penida or beach day

Take the fast boat if the sea is calm, otherwise spend the day on a quiet beach and a long lunch.

Day 8

Departure

Check out and transfer to the airport with plenty of time.

How to adjust this plan

  • If you do not want to trek, replace Day 3 with a Balinese cooking class and a swing or spa day.
  • Honeymooners can swap one Ubud night for a private-pool villa in Sidemen.
  • Travelling with children? Skip the volcano and add a day at Bali Safari or Nusa Dua.

Book these early

  • Mount Batur trek with a registered guide
  • Hotels in Sidemen, which are limited in peak season
  • Nusa Penida boat tickets

Frequently asked questions

Is eight days too long for Bali?

+

Not if you spread it across bases. Many visitors find six days is too rushed and eight feels right.

Is Sidemen worth including?

+

It is quiet and scenic, which suits honeymooners and slow travellers. If you want nightlife and cafes, skip it.

How hard is Mount Batur?

+

It is a short but steep trek in the dark. Many reasonably active people manage it, but it is not suitable for small children or anyone with knee or breathing problems.

Can a travel agent customise this Bali itinerary?

+

Yes. Post your dates, group and budget on QuoteMyTrip and travel agents can send plans based on this outline, with their own hotels and prices for you to compare.
