Bali 6 Day Itinerary for Indians: who it suits

Six days lets you split Bali into two bases and stop living out of the car. Ubud comes first for the cooler air and rice-field scenery, then the coast for beach time and sunsets.

This is the version most first-timers end up with, and it leaves room for one boat day to Nusa Penida if the sea is calm.

Best suited to: First-time visitors, couples and small families who want culture, beaches and one island day trip.

Day-by-day 6-day plan

Day 1

Arrive and settle in Ubud

Transfer straight to Ubud, which takes about an hour or more depending on traffic. Evening walk to the art market and a relaxed dinner.

Day 2

Ubud culture day

Tegallalang rice terraces in the morning before the crowds, then a coffee plantation and Tirta Empul. Afternoon cooking class or spa.

Day 3

Move to the coast

Drive to Uluwatu or Seminyak, stopping at Tanah Lot if you are heading to Seminyak. Check in and take the evening easy.

Day 4

Nusa Penida day trip

Early fast-boat to Nusa Penida for Kelingking and Broken Beach viewpoints. The sea can be rough, so keep a backup beach day in mind.

Day 5

Beach and spa day

Slow morning, a Balinese massage, and an unplanned afternoon at a beach or café. Save the evening for a sunset dinner.

Day 6

Departure

Check out, last shopping, and an airport transfer timed for traffic.

How to adjust this plan

  • If the sea is rough on Day 4, swap in a waterfall and temple day around Sidemen instead.
  • Honeymooners can keep Ubud to one night and add a night in a private-pool villa on the coast.
  • With toddlers, replace Nusa Penida with the calm beaches of Nusa Dua.

Book these early

  • Nusa Penida fast-boat tickets and hotel pickup
  • A private driver for Ubud and the transfer to the coast
  • Cooking class slot in Ubud

Frequently asked questions

Is Nusa Penida worth the effort?

+

The viewpoints are striking, but roads are rough and days are long. Do it only if the weather is calm and you are comfortable with boat rides.

Where should we stay on the coast?

+

Uluwatu suits cliffs and quiet, Seminyak suits restaurants and beach clubs, and Nusa Dua suits families who want calm water.

Can we fit a volcano sunrise trek?

+

It needs a very early start and a fitness level most beginners do not have. Consider the eight-day version if it is a priority.

Can a travel agent customise this Bali itinerary?

+

Yes. Post your dates, group and budget on QuoteMyTrip and travel agents can send plans based on this outline, with their own hotels and prices for you to compare.
