Bali 4 Day Itinerary for Indians: who it suits
Four days is the shortest Bali trip that still feels worth the journey. Most of the first and last day goes to flights and transfers, so you really have two full days on the ground.
This plan keeps a single hotel base in the south and uses two big day outings, one cultural and one coastal. If you want rice terraces and beaches without packing a suitcase twice, this is the version to pick.
Best suited to: Travellers with a long weekend who can accept a connecting flight and want a taste of Bali.

Day-by-day 4-day plan
Arrive and unwind
Land in Denpasar, transfer to your hotel in Seminyak, and keep the evening free. A short walk to the beach at sunset is enough after the flight.
Ubud day trip
Drive north through craft villages to the Tegallalang rice terraces, then the Sacred Monkey Forest and Ubud market. Add Tirta Empul if you want the water-temple experience, and be back by evening.
Uluwatu and sunset
Spend the morning at a beach or spa, then drive south to Uluwatu Temple for the clifftop views and the evening Kecak fire dance. Dinner by the cliffs on the way back.
Departure
Some last souvenir shopping and a hotel check-out. Allow generous time for traffic to the airport.
How to adjust this plan
- If your flight lands late at night, treat Day 1 as a sleep day and move spa time to Day 3.
- If you would rather stay in Ubud, swap the base and make Uluwatu the day trip. Do not try to base in both.
- Skip Nusa Penida on a four-day trip. The boat and road time eats a whole day.
Book these early
- Airport transfers and a private driver for Day 2 and Day 3
- Kecak dance tickets at Uluwatu
- A hotel close to Seminyak's main road to cut transfer time
What to budget for Bali
Costs depend on the hotel level and season more than on the number of days. These are indicative land costs per person for a typical stay, excluding flights; scale them to your 3 nights and ask for an itemised quote.
| Style | Land cost per person (indicative) | Usually covers |
|---|---|---|
| Budget | ₹28,000 – ₹40,000 | 3-star or guesthouse, shared tours, breakfast |
| Standard | ₹40,000 – ₹65,000 | 4-star or private pool villa, private car for sightseeing |
| Premium | ₹70,000 – ₹1,50,000+ | Luxury villas, private tours, fine dining |

Frequently asked questions
Is four days enough for Bali?
+
It is enough for a first look at the south and Ubud, but not for Nusa Penida or a volcano sunrise. Six days is more comfortable.
Should I stay in Ubud or Seminyak for four days?
+
Seminyak suits beach and dining plans, and Ubud suits culture and quiet. For a short trip, pick one and do the other as a day trip.
Can I do this with young children?
+
Yes, if you keep one outing a day. Skip the late Kecak performance and choose an early temple visit instead.
Can a travel agent customise this Bali itinerary?
+
Yes. Post your dates, group and budget on QuoteMyTrip and travel agents can send plans based on this outline, with their own hotels and prices for you to compare.
