What customised really means
A customised package is built around your dates, budget and preferences instead of a fixed departure. You can change the hotels, the number of nights, the pace and the inclusions.
In return you give up the fixed group price, so costs can be higher than a standard package.
How the process usually works
- You share your requirement.
- Agents propose a draft itinerary and price.
- You ask for changes and the agent revises.
- You confirm the final version and payment terms.
- The agent books and sends vouchers.
Tips for a better result
- Give a budget range. Agents can then propose realistic hotels.
- Prioritise: pick your top three must-haves.
- Ask for itemised pricing so you can see where changes affect cost.
- Keep the first draft flexible and refine it.
Frequently asked questions
Is a customised package more expensive?
+
Often a little, because you do not share group costs. It depends on the destination and your choices.
Can I change the plan after I book?
+
Ask about change policies before you pay. Hotel and flight changes can have fees.
How early should I ask?
+
Four to eight weeks ahead for most trips.
How can QuoteMyTrip help?
+
Post your requirement once, and travel agents can send plans and quotes that you can compare side by side. QuoteMyTrip does not take bookings or payments for trips.
